Question Newbie -- 3 W163 Questions

Thanks in advance for answering what are, to most members of this community, likely to be very simple questions:

1. There is a cylindrical pump/device mounted next to the battery. Is it normal for this to run several minutes after turning the ML320 off?

2. I got PIAA H3s and want to install them as fog lights. Do I need to remove the entire headlamp assembly to get to the slots? I can pull the rubber cover off of each slot, but the it's really a tight area, especially on the driver's side with the washer fuild tank there.

3.Will it be obvious where to plug in the wire/clip for the H3s?

Thanks again.

I can only answer your first question, This device is an electric cooling pump that keeps the coolant reciculating after shut down for a little while. Purpose is to eliminate hot spots and subsequent warping of the aluminum engine components. This is completely normal
