Steering like wind shear
When I'm on the accelerator my suv jerks from left and right like a wind shear blows me left or right. When I'm off the accelerator and coasting it does not do it at all. I was told that it might be transmission mounts?

To check the motor mounts and the trans. mount, proceed as follows:
1. open the hood
2. fully step down on the emergency brake and then fully step on the brake pedal with your left foot and hold it there.
3. start the eng. and put it drive and then quickly snap on the accelerator pedal and release. DO YOU HEAR OR FEEL A THUMP?
4. then put it in reverse and proceed with the same above. DO YOU HEAR OR FEEL A THUMP?
It would be best if you had someone who could look at the side the eng. NOT IN FRONT OF THE ENG. iIf you do not have a helper, you must look through the lower part of the hood opening to see eng. movement.
