Exclamation Going to light my ML320 on fire

Hello everyone! I've been surfing around this forum for advice for some time now. I wanted to reach out for help. I bought a 2002 ML320, and it came with all the bells and whistles. No really, almost every single light was flashing and chiming and dinging. The guy I bought it from said the battery went dead, and when it got jump started, it went into limp mode and a bunch of lights started flashing. Brakes are also going to the floor. His son also added an aftermarket stereo and cut the harness for the nav/stereo. He didn't want to deal with it, so he sold it. On a prayer, I replaced the conductor plate and reset the codes. No joy. I'm wondering if you have any recommendations before I limp it into pick and pull. I borrowed a "STAR" system, so thats where the codes below came from. I also attempted to delete all the codes and rescan. I still see "Stored" codes, so not sure what's going on there.

Kudos to you for posting the codes and where they were stored.

With the key out of the ignition, and with the eng. cold, check the voltage at the Pos. & Neg. lugs, then do the same, testing the vol. at the clamps.

If you need a battery, the part # is 000 982 33 08, approx.$177.

Appreciate the reply.

Just replaced the battery. Got a Duracell gold. Hopefully that's not causing issues (non OEM)

Battery with vehicle on: 13.7 volts
Battery with vehicle off: 12.63 volts
Positive terminal to ground: 12.62 volts
Positive cable to ground: 12.62 volts
Negative cable to ground: good continuity
Positive cable to lugs: good continuity
Positive lug to fuse block: good continuity

I would also mention that some modules didn't scan through DAS (exclamation point). Specifically Trans and a couple others. I'll get HHTWIN running to scan those today. I also checked all fuses under the hood. None blown. I'll check the interior ones today. Any next steps recommended?

I found this connector unplugged under the dash. Looked like 3 wires were cut and loose. Others had splices in them. Didn't look like something the factory would do. Any possibility this could have anything to do with the nonsense I'm seeing?

Look at that component with a bright light for the part #. It will start with Axxx xxx xx xx.

I believe that is the EAM.

Please update your profile to include the year, model (is it GAS, CDI or Blue) and where you live.

Could be an entertaining project, but it might well be cheaper to buy a new GLS500 than fix it...

1. You seem to have a major electrical fault in the car.
2. I would get the car reviewed by a professional car electrical diagnosis shop
3. I had something similar happen to my ML320, and the diagnosis was a faulty fusebox.....the fusebox metal degrades over years and builds up resistance over the years.
4. Shop replaced the fusebox and all electrical faults were gone instantly.
