Not that hard...
I had to reinstall mine...I bent my dealer installed one in a fender bender....purchased a used one from this very site some time back...
It is a lot of work (you need at least 2 people to work on it - one has to go underneath the truck to bolt the nuts - it bolts directly on to the truck's frame, the other has to hold the guard and skid plate in place), but its not difficult to install.
You will also need special unequal sized brackets that mount on to the truck's frame.
Of course, I had one previously installed, so, I had all the brackets - I carefully noted down every nut/bolt/bracket that I dismantelled while removing the damaged one...after that re-installing was just going back in the reverse order...
