Hey guys I have a 2001 ML320 and need to buy a fuel filter. I’m having a difficult time locating one, does anyone have a recommendation on what brand to buy and where?

You might try FPC Euro. They have many parts and supplies for MB and other Euro cars. Good pricing and shipping. Lets us know where you wind up purchasing and cost if you don't mind

 

Unfortunately this part is NLA from Mercedes and none of the OEMs like Mahle make it either. I don't know if there are Chinese aftermarket ones on eBay or Amazon.

 

When I get a chance I'll pull the fuel filter from BMW E46/E39 and see if it may work. These are much longer than the ML filter but it's got a similar design in terms of pressure regulator and connectors if I remember correctly.

I have also found them at "Parts Geek", they seem to have or can get the Mahale too. The reason I'm searching these as you are, is because that is one of the items I want to change out on my newly acquired 2000 MB ML 320 very simiar to yours. Also a couple enlightening videos on youtube for short cuts and best/easiest practices to get to it to R&R. mine was/is throwing the PO442 code even with the replacement gas cap. My guess,, it is the vent line is deteroated and or cracked. Good luck with your searching

After I reviewed a couple of the Youtube videos I decided to go ahead and have a new set of fuel lines on hand to change out when the fuel filter gets done.I am also concidering changing out the fuel pump as well due to age. This seems to be one of those jobs thats not so much a technical difficulty rather a pain in the a-se and at the age of our SUVs I hoping for 1 and done. I found a nice set of lines on ebay from a seller that is US based an sells a wide veriety of auto parts this set I got was in the wraper and inexpensive. The fuel pump is one I may shop else where.
I won't be working on the Benz for a while. Seems 20 degree weather starts to hinder my dexterity as well as my nerves. Good Luck,,, Let us know how you fair when you Get-ER-Done

 

do you know the exact part number for the updated fuel filter and fuel lines? Which brand lines did you purchase? I’m thinking of purchasing the Febi brand lines.

THE PACKING LIST HE SHOWED has the filter as {MOCW Fuel Filter with Fuel Pressure regulator 163 477 07 01, for ML 320, ML 430, ML 55, {W163}.
That one was 30.12 inc. tax and shipping.
I don't buy everything on ebay but do a lot of comparison shopping/pricing/ checking sellers percentage on favorable conclusions to sales and sometimes find a gem or 2.
! example, about 1 year and a 1/2 ago I got a High Flo cam pate by Feuling for 115.00 un used they list at Feuling for 395.00 for my Harley.

I bought one off Amazon for my 1999 ML 430 and it fit just fine. I would go ahead and get the 3 lines that come off the fuel pump and the fuel line because inevitably you will break one of them taking them off. I just installed this a month ago and worked great. Almost positive the link below is what I ordered.
