Dealer called last night: '05 ML 500 special edition sticker $51,030 will sell for roughly $46K. What do you think?

Sounds good to me.... I really really love my ML 500 despite it not having the radio data system or steering wheel controls. It has a few short comings here and there, but man for a truck it rides and handles very well. Plus it goes fast which makes up for a lot!

Not to hijack, but since I don't wanna start another thread, here is an idea:
Take a silver ML:
install silver inspiration edition grille,
Install silver special edition roof rack
Install silver fender flares
Install 18" Mercedes 2 piece wheels (with all the rivets around it)
Paint door handles and D pillars silver
Remove black trim tape covering B pillars (its painted body color underneath)
Install silver spoiler?

I think that would look awesome, maybe I would do it to mine if I could scrape up the money.... I love monochromatic cars.

Can't speak directly to that exact price though it sounds about right. As comparison, I just picked up my fully loaded 05 500 SE for which I paid dealer cost... Any more than that is unnecessary as there is a dealer holdback that allows them to make some coin when selling at dealer cost...

Hey, what are the B pillars? How do you remove the tape? This sounds like a good and cheap idea to enhance its look. You sure it's painted? Can you help a brotha out?

Thanks.

Ok, on the front and rear doors, in between the window glass.... The rough black surface there is TAPE. If you remove it carefully, it will be painted, and I think it looks awesome without the tape. Heat it gently and remove it, you will have to remove the weather stripping and dew wipes to do it properly. Just be damn sure you want it removed, because its virtually impossible to reinstall the tape without bubbles or wrinkles. I have had to replace the tape on numerous occasions, its no fun. But a little cleanup and some wax over the previously taped area, and you have an awesome looking ride!
Peel it back a little on the inside of the door and you will see what I mean.
