Rear window defroster = radio static???
Hey all,
When we turn on the rear window defroster, the radio goes static, but still able to hear the music behind it. When it's switched off (defroster) the static is gone...how can these two items be linked to one another

The antenna is made in to the rear glass. There is a filter that goes back there specifically for this purpose. Its probably faulty... I forget exactly what to call it, but its a little box with a wire and some coax going to it I think....

You have to take the lower liftgate trim off to get to it, it is held on by one T30 screw. Easy to replace the filter but the trim is a small pain. Autogunner P.S. it will be on the left side when you are looking up from the inside of the liftgate. Its about a foot away from the inside handle.

Autogunner,
I have similar problem. When i turn the defroster swtich on, my radio fm station get static. When i switch defroster off, no static. After a while, the rear window doesn't defrost anymore. If i replace the filter would that fix the problem for defrosting and fix the static?
Thanks,
Chris
