a car that can't do the throttle reset.
cig lighter lite
in my 04 the ash tray in front of the shifter.. the light is always on. is this normal? I thought it was supposed to turn on only when open??

Actually, when you turn the headlight switch off, it goes out too. It's quite cool like that.

On my 05, even in AUTO, the light comes on only when the key is in the ON

1) It'll always come on with the headlights on, regardless of key position
2) It'll always come on when the light stalk is in the "parking light" position, engine not running, key anywhere, even in your pocket.
3) AUTO mode is no different than 1) above - if headlights are off, it's off. when the lights come on, it's on, engine running or not.
4) It's never on just sitting there with light stalk in "OFF" position.
