Hi guys,
how many people do you guys have on your ml,
can somebody tell me the history on what the ml has reach up to,
say like 98,000 miles or 100,000 miles,
when the mile have reach up to these miles is the ml still reliable,
i just want to ask to see what everybody else have put on the ml so we can see how far this ml can go,
i don't want to ask stupid question because i can't find it on the sticky's or any place else, one of the these day this or any other information should be posted in the sticky's

currently 70k on my parents ML430...no major probs (knock on wood). Only probs were fuel sending unit (very common), front lower ball joints done around 63k, regular oil changes and some creaks/rattles (again, "normal" for early ML's).
Other than those, the ML has been great for whatever we throw at it. Hoping for many more miles to go.
Someone on here, I think it's "SpringFever"? that has over 200k on his ML and has had some repairs, mostly from worn out parts I believe...do a search for it for more info

ML430 (used to, now X5 4.4.i)
2000 ML430 62,000 miles, purchased 11/01 w/ 21k mls
The first three months were trouble free, then in month 4-9 the warranty work at the dealer happened except for the MAF which came after about 1 1/2 yrs. Since then car has been pretty much trouble free. Maintenance has been coming due more or less within expectation. Some work was needed due to move to Europe. Gas mileage has been horrible since day one, around 15 mpg. I think my speedo shows 10 miles low at 85mph....
The engine is a gem and the car rides very well, but is a bit slow considering 268 HP. Great traction in snow. Globetrotting with the kids is fab due to huge trunk space. We made several 600 mile round trips in the last year w/o any problems doing about 85-90mph on the Autobahn. Tomorrow 800 mile trip to Austria v.v. coming up....
Warranty work at US dealer in DC:
MAF, Pass. seat airbag sensor (after fixing this I discovered dealer in DC forgot to re-attach pass seatbelt to seat...), CD changer, p/s hose (I fixed temp in the street), some rubber piece from sunroof fell off. Too tired of seeing dealer to get the glovebox hinges replaced...got the window switches replaced before they failed.
Maintenance self:
I've lost count of oil and filter changes about every 5,000 mls Mobil 1 Synth. and a couple of air filters. One set of bulbs for US headlights, four sets of brake pads, 1 set of brake disks, two brake fluid flushes, four bilstein HD shocks (orig. were poor at 50k, just replaced) and one set of Dunlop Grand Trek TG35 (one set upon purchase, still 1/4" on ct. 17", too bad they seem not to make them anymore, great tires), two sets of wipers, one rr wiper, two HVAC filters, attach US tow bar, grave difficulty locating fuse for 12V outlet on dash (in RH footwell)...., endless polishing & waxing of alloy wheels due to brake dust agressiveness...new battery (since my son left an int. light on and killed the original (yes original!!) a few weeks ago).
Maintenance at dealer in Germany:
(at 47k) A/T ATF and filter change (against SA rec.), fix LH seat heating, at 55k: RH mirror shell (a truck going the other way crossed center line and caused the wife to hit the mirror of a parked truck), RH rear door insulation fell off and re-attached, at 62k: hood & rear hatch shocks, washer tank, rear alignment (after shock replacement, upper wishbones needed to come off).
Other work at dealer due to move to Germany:
New Euro headlights, new Euro towbar with 13 pin elec. connector (latter needs to be inspected and is part of regestration document).
Other self due to move:
Install Euro Comand, Aux IN and OF CD changer.
At 75k I will need another set of brake disks and pads as well as tires. The rear diff weeps at one axle but unless it gets worse I am not going to do anything about it. I wonder when the serpentine should be replaced, it feels like in good shape but it is five yrs old now.....?

208,000 miles...she's still going strong !!
hope to pass it along to my son when he gets his license.
In my humble opinion..one of the safest vehicles on the road

I'm getting a few spots of rust here and there. Happiyl when I had the new muffler put I took a look underneath and it wasn't too rusty under there. Even the muffler guy said that it wasn't bad at all. As long as the few spots I have don't get bigger I should be all set. Knock on wood.

Just rolled 126,000th mile on mine this morning..
The way it is going at 126K miles, looks like the 250K mark should be a breeze...
Still love it as much as I loved it brand new..

2000 ML430
I've probably got the least miles, 2000 ML430 just turned 85k last week. Need to put new pads and rotors on her this weekend, plus the A/C has stopped blowing cold air. I hope this is just freon but we'll see. Also the driver power seat has stopped functioning and I can not locate the fuse for it, the passenger power seat is working fine however. But she looks real pretty, no rust.
