Post YES!! Another extended warranty question?

Alright.. so I have an 01 ml320. Warranty is up in March. I'm in Baltimore, MD, and the dealer here in Owings Mills just quoted me $3400 of a 5 year, 100k full coverage warranty. The name on the brochure is Care Care Connection... "ElitePlus". When I asked about a MB or a Chrysler warranty he said that since I bought my truck from a third party dealer thats the only warranty I can get...?? Even though the brochure looks cheesy the warranty seems to cover things like "wear and tear" items... ?? Anyone have any comments or suggestions...? Thanks

I have also been offered the same in tysons..VA

SO from what I understand this Warranty is mostly accepted by any Dealer.

I bet your deduction each time you visit is more than $100--(this is a question)
I spoke to Lisa and she said I can get warranty for 7yrs from the birthdate for either 60k or 75k.she quoted this doesnt cover wear and tear and cosmetic stuff and it was 2590 for upto 75k..(ofcourse if the birthdate whichever comes first) with a $100 deductible. The only diff from Car Care and Lisa is .. Car Care keeps on increasing depending on the mileage goin up ..so If you delay for car care(I was thinking about extended warranty and was driving and I put around 1k and went back to the dealer it went up by around $200)but Lisa said it will be the same as she is giving us with the consideration of Mileage and Birthdate..
I am thinking to talk to Lisa around June as my warranty expires in Aug.. also I have the same ml320 you have :-)....
Do a search on Lisa and you should get her Number... Cheers

Yeah the ded was 100 bucks. I think the price he quoted me was prorated with the addtional mileage. I'm not sure I understand about "Lisa"... She works at Tysons..? and was offering a different warranty..?? I also wonder if you have to pay for any repairs up front and then submit a claim..??

With a 2001 ML, you need the best coverage you can get if you plan to keep it.
Extended warranties will cover most electrical and mechanical problems. Any trim problems, cosmetic, or what have you are not covered.
Radio, and every single part it connects to are generally not covered. That includes amps, speakers, cd changer, phone, etc...
Heated seat elements are often excluded.
Mirror glass, window glass are excluded, even for discoloring.
You just need to be sure of what is covered and what isn't when you bring it in for repairs. Also, expect a delay in processing your car! The warranty company must be contacted, then must approve all work. You may very well be asked to cover any diagnostic fees if they find the work is not covered by the warranty company.
From a service perspective, extended warranties are a nightmare. However, as a customer I have used them to my advantage.

Saturnstyl- have you ever dealt with the chryslerdaimler warranty that lisa sells? And if you have, do you have to go through a Chrysler facility before going to a MB facility? thanks for any info.

Chevrolet Chevette, Ford Pinto, Pontiac Aztek, Trabant, Yugo GV (and all the worst cars ever built)
I have an extended warranty for five years up to 100,000 miles from 1SourceAuto. I bought it for approximately $2,500 around January 2001, which was around the time my factory warranty expired. I had approximately 45,000 miles when I bought that car. I now have about 70,000 miles on my car and I have had no problems dealing with 1Sourceauto at all. Two dealers that I bring my car for repars are - Silverstar Motors and Mercedes Benz Manhattan (the only MB owned dealership in the country) and they too have had no problems with dealing with 1SourceAuto these past four years.

Whenever I have a problem, I bring in the car, they do a quick check and see that I have an extended warranty and they take care of the rest. I pick up the car in the afternoon and my total cost is $1 for coffee and a donut from the corner deli.

I have not personally dealt with that company, so I cannot comment. Round these parts aftermarket warranties from Carmax and CNA are the most common.

School bus
California owners

For whatever reasons, many extended warranty providers do not seem to do business in CA....

Leo's coffee cart in the corner of 54th street and Park Avenue - his is the coffee cart on the west side of Park avenue. He is there only from 6:30 in the morning up to 10:00. Then his coffee and donut cart is replace by Rafiki's kebob and lamb cart.

Pretty cheap huh!
