Post ML500 lease almost up!

hey guys,

well my 02 ML 500 will be going back to the dealer soon....the
lease is almost up. all in all the vehicle was pretty good.
the only issues that i had to tolerate for the entire time of
ownership was the stereo/mono issue and my overhead
compass/mpg computer never worked consistently. everything
else worked as it was supposed to. with 41000 miles on the
odometer, driven in the crappy pa. weather, and completely
neglected by wife the ML stood the test of time. so much
for the A holes at jdpower and consumer reports.

Why don't you keep it? I'd imagine you would want to keep a vehicle that's proven so reliable, even at 41k, that's not so bad. Did MBCC offer you a better deal or anything special?

My ML500 '02 lease is ending in June and I'm thinking an extension more so than a purchase. At 21k, mine has ways to go to be broken in. Just curious on how the lease exit was handled.

Thanks,

i will most likely have the vehicle for a couple weeks more.
this is my first lease return so it is pretty new to me.
i will post the details when it officially trades hands.
I'm over the amount of miles that the lease allows.
i have newer tires on it...so I'm trying to use it as much
as possible to get my monies worth out of them.
i have already replaced it with a Denali.
it was time for a change. last fall when GM was
offering all kinds of money on their vehicles i took
advantage of it. i got an even 10k off of the msrp.
so far so good with the Denali. loads of power and
it rides beautifully. when the new G class is released I'm going to
take a look at that. i like the larger size.
i have a hard time buying a new
vehicle from any manufacturer that is in its first year
of production. give them some time to work the gremlins
out.

the new ML looks very nice.
i really like the interior.
maybe after i put some mileage on the
Denali i will switch back over to MB.
I'm anxious to see the new engines that
are in the pipeline with MB. i think some
serious horsepower is on the way

Never extend the old lease. This is just wrong thing to do on leasing. And the New ML is coming out soon and it is better than the old one, I will start a new lease instead extending from the old, for the same $$ go for something new.
