Any help, double spana mark!!

Dose anyone know the difference between single spana mark and double spana mark(attached photo).
My 1998 ML320 had never experienced doubole spana mark.
But my friend's ML270CDI shows this spana mark after oil exchange resetting.

Any help!

Thanks

Single wrench means that an A service is next or due. Double wrench means that a B service is due or next. Your manual has a full explanation of this and your service booklet explains what is done in each service.

RE: Double wrench mark

Thanks sosh

In Japan there is no A service nor B service.
Our ML's service is only one " 3 years mercedes care".
So we could not realize double wrench mark.

Thanks

I am under the impression that MB's all over the world are on the A and B maint. schedule. Each occurs about 9000 to 12000 miles on the 98's. The B service is more comprehensive than the A service. Check your manual and maint booklet to confirm this and/or talk to a dealer about this. From what you are saying you must have purchased your ML used. If you have had it since new I believe that you would have a clear idea of this program as in addition to the miles, service due would have appeared about every year. There is also an instruction in the manual that will inform you as how to reset the service indicator in the event that you preform each service yourself.
