Armrest - infant car seat problem
While installing a rear-facing infant car seat on the center back seat of my 2002 ML 320, I noticed that the center armrest could potentially come down from its upright position during a collision and land perilously close to an infants face. I brought up my concern with a local police officer that inspects car seat installations and she told me that some vehicles, like Volvo, sell a strap that can be used to fix the armrest in an upright postion.
My dealer did not know of such a strap so has anyone heard about such a thing?
I suppose I could improvise with something else, but I'm waiting to see if there is a readily available solution to this problem.
Thanks.
