bmw x5 3d and ML 320 CDI
Prices Europe -US difference 35% !!
The base price for the new ML 350 in Europe is 42.600 Euro and 40.000 $ in the US. (Rate 1€ = 1,33$)
In Belgium you have to add a 21% tax to the base price.
But the difference of 35 % for the base price I really do not understand.
The option bi-xenon cost 1397 €.

Historycally, cars has always been cheaper in the US than Europe on a similar model. The reasons are tougher competition and larger sale volume. Just like anything else you buy. When you buy more you get a larger discount.
PS. The ML carry a bigger price difference because it's made in the US.

although MB have started to remove some features on newer cars. Not sure if it's the overall quality improvement by reducing complex parts, or cost cutting.
