Wheels and Brakes

Hello,

I have see the ML320CDI and the brakes could be better. Do you know if I can put the 4 piston AMG onces like I did in my sportcoupe? (They look very good).

How can I know if the 18' rims or the 19' AMG rims will clear the calipers?

I see that the offset of the ML rims is a lot different to any other car; so I supose I can only use rims made for SUV's, no? (a forum member has put new brabus rims to his ML; it will be interesting to know the details).

Best Regards,

Ruben.

You are a few months ahead of the curve. In September both Lorinser and Brabus (and maybe Carlsson) will have wheels for the W164 at the Frankfurt show. By then, the optimum specs and clearances will be figured out. Be patient! The AMG [package wheels are too narrow. I'm sure there will be plenty of big brake options. However, outside of track use, I'm sure the stock brakes are up to most driving.

Then if the AMG wheels don't have to much clearance for big brake, I will wait for brabus or lorinser.

Best Regards.

AMG 19 255/50 is 2816€
Double Spoke 18 255/55 is 1549€ (at least I will take those).
1549€ of diference.

If I wait for other wheels don't they be a lot more expensive?

Tires are the same prize in 18 or 19; something like 856€.

Next year the new AMG 63 is out; I supose it will have big brakes and the same bumpers and wheels, no?

It's strange that the AMG wheels don't have enought clearance for big brakes. (in the sportcoupe with brabus VI 17' I have the AMG 4 pistons calipers).

The car will be delivered in september but I have to fix all the options before the end of may; after that I can't change any option.

Thanks and Best Regards.
