ML63 & R63 AMG *pics*
So I'm pulling into Outback for dinner and what do I spot... a new ML and an R "500" all taped up. Upon further inspection, I realized these were both AMG models. I parked my car between them just to be a dork, and I might admit the engineers looked very confused when they came out. :p
Anyways, while none of them would confirm what they were driving, the R-class made some very un-mercedes like sounds.
I must admit, my interest had been waning. I own a VW Touareg, and have been thinking about trading my C32 in on an A8 to have an all VW Fleet, but now I'm thinking I'm going to get rid of the Touareg when the ML AMG comes out.

haha. Crappy camera phone, sorry. I wish I had my real one. I wasn't even sure which group was them until they walked out to the parking lot. We talked for a minute, they suggested I upgrade to the C55 and I told them I was holding out for the S63 AMG. One of the guys corrected me and said "S65" and I said, "no S63" and pointed to the R-class. It was right about then that all of them suddenly shut up and started staring at me like I was the Devil.

It is quite possible. They did say they were over here for 3 weeks testing, so what they were testing is anyone's guess... I have mine.
They wouldn't confirm or deny anything.

I think there were 9 of them. I didn't see enough gear for 9 guys going on a 3-week long road trip, so I suspect there's more cars sitting at a hotel somewhere... if I only I knew where. Excuse me while I get out a map...

There's probably laws against this, but...
I found where they're staying. I only saw the two cars, and a Pacifica (blah). The way they were parked prevented me from getting a good shot of the ML, or the front ends of either car.

thankfully I didn't need to use COMAND to find the hotel because it probably couldn't help me find my *** from a hole in the ground...
It's a very small parking lot, with one way in, and there were people up watching TV in one of the rooms right across from the cars. I was trying to not attract too much attention, and didn't want to get out of my car. I do have to drive right by that hotel in the early morning, so I'll cruise the parking lot in a car they haven't seen. Hopefully in the daylight I can get some better pics.

The exhaust was much bigger on the one I saw, and the wheels looked a little different, but they both did have a "werkswagen" badge on them. Looks like that was an earlier prototype.
