We drove from Portland to Halfway (far eastern), Oregon this weekend for a get together with friends who have a vacation ranch over there. It's near the Idaho border in a beautiful valley at the foot of the Wallowa mountains, and not far from Hells Canyon. It's 360 miles one way. Anyway, loaded up the rig with food, gear, bike and Valentine 1.
Cruising at around 80 was effortless, and the vehicle was flawless both ways. The V1 gave adequate warning of two radar traps on the way back.
Averaged about 18 mpg on way over and 17.5 on way back (head wind), at an average speed of around 75 (w/ AC on and bike on back).
One bit of drama--we were hustling down the last windy stretch through mountain valleys at dusk on the way to Halfway when a deer walked out into my lane. I only saw him with 75 feet or so to go, and I was going 65 - 70. I did a quick evasive left jog and missed him by probably 2-3 feet. I had the suspension on Sport and it responded very well.
Here are a couple pics taken at our friends':
