Rear Entertainment System

Bought 06' ML-350 Memorial Day. No problems yet. Really like it.

Wish I had bought the Rear Seat Entertainment system for my kid.
Now I am looking for an OEM or perhaps going back to MB. MBUSA
has a really small picture on their website. Anyone got an a bigger
or clearer picture? How does it fold up when not in use?

I was so wrapped up in closing a deal that I did not think to take
a look at those with the system installed.

Was thinking of self install the MB version to save labor charges,
but not sure if I have to take the whole car apart for that.

Thanks!
Bill

There are two types of rear seat systems. There is a headrest monitor version which is factory and there is a screen in the middle version which is after the fact.

I seriously doubt that you will
a. Save money this way
b. Want to install it yourself.

After looking at the documents I dont think it can even be done in one working day and there is an amount of dismantling and cutting involved.

So in this regard you are advised to set a budget and to select a kit that suits your needs best.

You may want to talk to Steve about this but he may well run for the hinterland when he sees it is for an ML.

Dealer installation for the center unit is only 2.0 hours. OEM hadrest units are not yet available for the ML, AFIK, although I think you can get them in the R Class.

The centre unit can be installed in 2 hours ? with all that drilling and cutting I should hope that it can take longer.

As for the headrest version ...... enjoy !

2.0 hours is directly from the dealer training PDF on accessories.

I can assure you that the first time they do it that it will take about 4-6 hours so that they dont mess up the trim.
