Very nice indeed. I noticed your ML has covered cup holders. Haven't seen that on the new models before. Good luck with your new car!

The covered ones are standard on euro models. For some reason, M-B thinks we Amreicans need Big Gulp in our faces.

All MLs are made in Alabama. When we get low sulphur fuel and the manufacturers figure out how to meet 2007 diesel emissions (urea?), we will have them.

I wonder how that aluminum V6 diesel will hold up vs the venerable I6 iron block. I guess it's a moot point since cars these days don't last more than 5-6 yeas anyway..

The old ones were venerable, yes...but the new ones will offer far better performance. I think 5-6 years is a bit of a short estimate, but it's true that the more tech cars get the shorter their realistic lifespan will be.

Rubensans, I'm surprised that your fuel consumption is calculated in MPG and not in Liter/100 km.

So all of the references to MPG mentioned above (and on the MB-UK site) are in "miles per US gallon?" or is it the Imperial gallon?

Here is the MB tech data on the ML320CDI from the UK site

I'm quite sure the real combined consumption will be around 12-12,5L/100km. Every time I drive it in the city, I do more than 15L/100km.

Final found a safe place to stop turned off engine restarted and the car is fully normal again with no faults.
Steve.
Yes - I've got exactly the same problem in my 2006 ML500 (Australian) with the standard feature of jerky change from 2nd to 1st at low speed.

My car is in the shop yesterday and today "to check the levels". Two days to check fluid levels?

Good luck to us both.
