Took these pictures of the new ML 63 at the Hockenheimring last week at the DTM finale.

Those are the stock AMG wheels on the 63--19x9.5s with 295/45 R19s. They will have 20s optional.Originally Posted by gsrjc

Nice, but expensive, IMHO

- How much are they as parts?
- Do you have a part number for the 19s?
Thanks,

Hi Greg, hi everyone
Sorry, I can't get at the prices, but they'll probably be of the "if you have to ask you can't afford them" kind
Part numbers and descriptions, yes:
Styling III (the ones you can get as an option), two versions:
B6 603 1229, 8.5J x 19 ET 58 - 255/50-19 - available
B6 603 1236, 9.5J x 19 ET 56 - 285/45-19 [Rear Axle Only] - available from 1st quarter 2006
Styling VI (the ones on the ML63)
Standard:
B6 603 0074, 9.5J x 19 ET 46 - 295/45-19 - available from 2nd quarter 2006, some work necessary
Optional (on the ML63):
B6 603 0075, 9.5J x 20 ET 46 - 295/40-20 - available from 2nd quarter 2006, some work necessary
In the German 09/2005 MB wheels catalogue there is also another, a little strange, 20":
FURUD 5-spoke
B6 647 4212, 8.5J x 20 ET 60 - 265/45-20 "MO" - available from 4th quarter 2005, not compatible with air suspension.
I say strange, because a set of these will probably cost in the vicinity of 5,000 EUR like the Carlsson wheels - and you increase the thread width by only 10 mm's.
Hope this helps somehow - I would have liked to put some pictures in, but I only have a printed catalogue, and scanning and uploading something legible is a royal PITA whan you're hanging on a 56k line as I am now - sorry
Kind regards,
Birger

Thanks for the information, That is very useful. I'm sure there will be some AMG 63 buyers wanting to change their wheels and unload theirs.Originally Posted by Birger

I assume "Some work necessary" means they stick out beyond the wheel wells and lip flares are required in Europe?

Birger, is there a part # for the fender flares? I'm in the U.S. They probably will not be available until 2006.Originally Posted by Birger

Hi, Flipsonic
I don't have a part number for the fender flares, and honestly, they're not necessary.
These are part of MB's "play safe" policy to take care of even the most rigid European car inspector on the lookout for a millimetre of protruding (tire!) rubber.
A lot of European MB models are in this way fitted with silly bits of plastic.
Save your money for when something nice looking comes along (yes, this phrase might have a double meaning
)
On www.mercedes-amg.com these wheels are shown on a stock W164 body, so probably they are OK without - but if you can get the customer to pay for the plastic tidbits also, why not??
Cheers,
Birger

Hi,
It's far from perfect, but I hope these scans give an idea of what's available for the W164 from MB:

How nice it would be if you could order the Mintaka 18" wheel (third page, on the left) from the factory....
Cheers,
Birger
