New ML500 delivery

As I think I had mentioned in the 'what did you pay?' thread, my wife wanted a new car. She was done with the 2 seat convertible deal (SLK32 for about 2yrs, then an SL500 for 18 mos) and wanted something that was easier to live with on a daily basis. She doesn't drive our E55 or Z06 and she hates driving our Titan - that left her with her SL500 for everything from grocery getting to daily driving.

She saw the new ML and decided a small SUV was what she wanted. She can carry 4 adults, accomodate a lot of shopping bags and cart the dogs to the park in the back.

We got it with most of the big packages (no appearance or AMG sport), plus keyless go and a couple other options. Here are some crappy pics I took in the garage:

The thing is decent to drive and has some nice features on it. She's digging it

i never leave my steering wheel in that position when i park. Always the right side up. kekeke

the new ML is growing on me. So how's the 500? is it strong enough for the heavy ML? we have the SL500 and S500, sometimes the car just a bit more ommph.

asianML - yes, it has the 3 zone. One thing that I really like is the mono button on the climate control. It links the zones, so you can change the temp with just the driver's dial.

BlackSL - it's adequate. Feels about as quick as our 04 SL500, but certainly no rocketship.

Richard023 - Thanks. The Z06 is a 2003 electron blue. I have a handful of mods, the most significant being a Vortech supercharger. The car makes ~550hp at the wheels and has gone 10.8s@128-129 in the 1/4. On the street, it wears HRE 545Rs that are 18x10 up front and 19x12 in the rear with 345/30 19 Michelin Pilots. I have an LPE minitub kit to accomodate the giant rear tires At the track, I use a CCW Drag Pack, which is a 16x5 front wheel, 16x10 rear w/26x11.5x16 ET Streets. I'm NHRA legal with a 6pt rollbar and Simpson harnesses.

Here is a picture of the car with CCWs - CCWs on Z06 and with HREs - HREs on Z06, another on HREs. And finally, showing the routing of the doorbars for the 6pt - 6pt rollbar in Z06.

What's been done to your C6?

Carpeted floormats, all weather floormats, reversible cargo mat (with the piece that folds out to protect the rear bumper), cargo net that attaches to the ceiling and I got it under invoice. I had them throw in the reversible cargo mat and all weather floormats as part of the deal, since they wouldn't come down any further on the price.

When I bought my E55, I negotiated a voucher for accessories, so I used up the remaining balance to order my Ipod install kit while I was there buying the ML.

very nice, how much did you end up paying for it under invoice? and did you have to pay for that ad charge?

It worked out to be ~$600 under. And by ad charge, do you mean IRG participation? If so, no, I did not pay that.

Nice, how did you manage to not pay the IRG when it's listed on their netstar inovice?

It's not a matter of paying it or not, they still have money left in the deal. I pointed to it and told them to reduce the total by that much. So in my mind, I didn't pay it.

You could say that in your $2000 under invoice, you're still paying it... or you're really at $1500 under invoice and you're not paying the IRG.

Greetings Wayne,

Thanks for sharing the pictures, your C5 Z06 looks outstanding

My C6 previously had the Lingenfelter stage II heads, LPE intake and comp cams and currently I have the Procharger kit, Kooks headers and Borla exhaust. Adding the alky injection and ECS restrictor plate next week, It's my first Corvette and loads of fun!!!

Best regards,
Richard

What a nice car, WayneE!!
One question from Europe: What kind of wood is this??
It looks very good but seems a bit more red than the samples I saw here (I
will buy an ML in 2006)!

Regards from Germany!

Awesome. The guys at ECS know their stuff! I'm sure you're laying down some serious HP with that car.

Wishnu, it's the Burl Walnut. I'm sure it just looks more red because of the flash.
