a new ML 320 CDI here
We finally received, after nearly 8 months of waiting, our 320 CDI last saturday. Sadly, I couldn't take picture until now but I will soon. The combo color is gorgeous (stone grey/alpaga grey) and the car has really a "presence" (much more than the W163)
I made two test drive, one on country roads for a hundred miles and a small course in my city.
The car ride is firm but yet confortable. you don't have the usual mashmallow handling in corner and you feel connected to the road. the noise level is good and the V6 turbo has some V8 grunts at low revs. The new gearbox+engine is a wonderful association, even if I feel the car somehow hesitating when you start. The gearing is great (1800 RPM @ 62 MPH) and it must be a perfect autobahn cruiser.
The drive in my (small) city showed that you don't feel like in a big car. it's agile and didn't give me the impression our old 300 GD gave.
Consumption wise, we made 9,1L/100 on the road and 15,8L/100 in the city (oups, but I think it is due to the cold weather we have and the huge amount of traffic lights)
The interior is beautiful and except the quality of the plastic on the upper part of the dashboard (looks a little cheap IMHO), you feel like in a MB. THe steering wheel is perfect (not the 22' wheel we used to have in our W124) and the comands are natural. Alpaga grey+sunroof is a must have for those who want to feel space inside.
I will post more info with my next ride but the overall impression is
I'm lovin' it!!!!

Cher Paul,
Happy ML motoring to everyone

Pourrais-tu me décrire les problèmes que tu as rencontré?

Félicitations Paul
Thanks you for the update and looking forward for your next one. I think it is the right car for the wonderful “paysage” in your region. À la prochaine.
