I get that sometimes on my CL when slowing down. It's a down shift. If it's too rough or harsh, you probably should check with your service department to see if there's a software update available; Otherwise sounds pretty normal to me.

the downshifts are very noticeable with the new 7 speed, our E350 does it, so do '06 C230 loaners we've had. If you take your car in, they should have some kind of software update to help with this.
