Disabling Shift buttons

Is there a way to disable the shift buttons behind the steering wheel?

I use them all the time -- don't know why someone would want to do that unless they are inadvertently hitting them with their club hand.

Well, that is the main reason, I am afraid to hit one of them by mistake while on highway, it happened a few times on the street and the downshift was not nice for me or the car.

Don't know how you did that as I find that I must make a concerted effort to use them as they are really not in the way if the wheel is gripped properly. Try learning how to correctly place your hands on the wheel that may help

I'm with jdr here. I have no use for the buttons and have no idea why I would ever use them. And yes, I'm gripping the wheel properly.

Welll, they're certainly not essential and not as useful as true manual progam ones that will prevent upshift. However, I use them often to control my speed on downhills rather than riding the brakes.
