anybody Over 5000 miles,
I would like to get feedback from the current owners, who have put over $5000 miles to their ML already. What kind of problems you had with the car if any?
The message boards for ML are flooded with reliability issues, mainly transmission related for W164. I think initial cars in spring had more problems than the later ones.
This would help a lot people like me to choose between ML and other cars. My only concern with W164 is the reliability record of M-class. I love the looks of new ML. Mercedes nailed it this time in terms of the looks.
Thanks for your help.

I'm a little over 7k and no problems. I'm driving from San Francisco bay area to L.A. for Christmas. I'll be over 8k by the time I get back. I'll post my experience. I got my ML in July and never experienced any problems except for minor things such as wipers too noisy.
If I were you, I'd jump on the bandwagon and buy one. Don't wait, let the fun begin.

I've got almost 20k. Only two "problems" that being an intermittent rattle in the dash and the seat/mirror memory has gone nuts. The dealer said he can fix it at the next scheduled maintenance.

I just passed 6K miles. Driving has been a pure pleasure. A little air leak in the rear passenger window was the only issue, but was fixed in no time. The W163 reputation still has many people spooked, but the new ML will hopefully turn out way better!

I'm pleased that Mercedes acknowledges the serious quality degradation that occurred just a few years past. Many of us have suffered as a result, and had MB not been so open about it (and committed to rectifying it) I would never have walked back into one of their showrooms. So, I am cautiously optimistic as they say, that the W164 will be a delightful ownership experience. I'll let you know in 6 months.

I noticed that you had the keyless go feature..........was it special ordered or dealer installed?

i have over 6k miles. only problem was the tranny. it appears that it happens less than before because from what i think, the adaptive control understands how i drive now. i am the only driver so i guess that helps. it does jerk once and a while at stop and go traffic. my MB general manager even reports jerk at stop and go traffic, he keeps the car in 1st gear until he can move it up if you are in that type of traffic, than it doesn't jerk.
