Service "D" by itself? why?

My Ml500 just jumped (or I just noticed it) from Next Service B at 2K something miles to service D at 2K something miles.

It has 2600 miles on it and I got it with 73 miles in September 05. I believe built date is april but not sure where to look for this.

Does anyone know what this service level is and why it jumped from one to the other? Can it be time?

Thanks

J

That is normal. The schedule is constantly changing, depending on many factors. The miles sound low to me. I haven't heard or seen one actually asking for service before 10,000 miles. I usually end up doing the service and NOT resetting the computer. the MB service advisor once said that the car could "detect" the changed oil, etc. and would not ask for service at the right time. I don't think he knows jack, so I continue to change the oil every 6000 miles.
