Buying a ML on Monday
Went out last week and test drove several suv's. Range rover, Acura, Infiniti, Lexus, BMW
Bottom line is that we liked the Mercedes the best. Have been talking with the dealer we are going to buy from trying to figure out what we do and don't want in the way of options. I generally load up a car with everything that's offered. 350 or 500??
Anyway, looking for some feedback on the options you have, like, don't like. general opinions and suggestions. What's the first thing that pops into your head when some one says...I'm buying an ML... We are leaning toward a Alabaster white with black interior. 1.9% financing is available from Mercedes til 2/28
I am checking into Mods available for the V6 motor... maybe supercharge it?

Get all the extras you like, but do not forget the Airmatic !
It makes your ride better than in an E500 ! I have my Ml350 w164 and had an E500 w211 before.
The sport package makes it sexy.
I just have some doubts on my comand aps dvd.

Get Airmatic and premium package, entertainment and lighting. You will then have most everyting. Why even consider a supercharger on a V6 when you can get the V8 and have excellent performance, long engine life, less dollars spent and also get the few other nice touches that come with it. Putting a supercharger on a V6 is like putting lipstick on a pig.

Airmatic, premium, lighting & entertainment. The air suspension makes all the difference in the world, bi-xenon's are great and the HK sound system is tops! The DVD navi is not so hot when compared to other manufacturers. I have the appearance pkg and although the interior (black) is somewhat hard to keep clean with two kids I still love the looks with the chrome.

Airmatic wasn't even on my list of must have options. Now it is at the top.
Wife and I have pretty much decided on the 500. Will depend on their inventory as to what color we end up with. Might be the first time we haven't gone with a color picked out, or the car was pre-ordered.

Get a loaded ML500 w/ airmatic, as others have recommended. It is NOT as good of a ride as an E500 (maybe an '03), but not a newer one. But, the ride is very X5ish with a little more lush to it. By the way, be sure to get it LOADED, or you will miss things. I did not get comfort package and the POS does not even have memory for various drivers. I have to adjust the mirrors, seat, etc. each time I drive it and it has Premium pack, etc. Kind of lame marketing, but oh well.

Here are a couple of pics from todays action at the dealer. BTW the car is for the wife...
LOADED 350 - everything except appearance package, which I thought was kind of strange. BUT, I/we are glad because she already has a set of rims (20's) picked out to put on. Would have been a big waste to pay for the rims we would have taken off anyway. Brabus body kit is looking pretty good too.
Will have more pics later, and pictures with the new rims in a couple of weeks. The rims are special order.
oh, and that last one... well we know what daddy wants for X-mas
