Well the E,CLS,S and others have the same engines the new diesel and AMG unit so why would that cause a delay with the ML and R?? Just asking.

The situation for the R and M is a bit different from the E, CLS, and S. After several years of not having any AMG model at all, it was discontinued after 2003, this year sees the introduction of the new AMG developed 6.3 liter NA engine in the M-Class first, followed a few months later by the other models. As for diesels, while the E already has the inline six, this year sees the introduction of the new V6 diesel only on the E320 CDI Bluetec, R320 CDI and ML320 CDI. So for folks looking for new engine technology in the ML or R this year there are quite some options, even without having the new M273 engines right from the start.
