trailer lights stay on
My 06 ML 500 came with a trailer hitch option. I use it to trailer my two horses around on weekends. I have a Brenderup trailer: the ML has more than enough HP and torque to handle the 5000 lbs load by the way. My problem is with the 7pin plug in for the trailer. The lights on the trailer remain on even when the ML is turned off and the key is out! The service rep agrees there is a problem but as yet has not figured out how to fix it. The last time I was there they said they would call me ( over a week ago.) Does anyone have any ideas?

PS. In case you have electric brakes, it might a different version of the rear SAM as described in the linked TSB.
