I am even happier I have ordered an ML 320 CDI now that I see the "progress" of the X5! Very ugly indeed and (sorry to the females) very and only feminine!
I have also eksperienced the x5 once, v8 benzine, and i feelt like driving a piece of metal, without any comodity, i had a back pain for 3 days after that trip! Sportive ok, but not at the same time driver-destructive! I prefere the compromises of the VW Toareg or the Cayenne S in terms of driver feeling or long trip comodity for the people inside the car. Of course i am looking forward not to be disappointed from the ML 320 CDI, and for that reason i did not opptate for a sport package, as i like the way betwen, the 18'' wheels instead of the 19'' ones. I have a family too, 2 boys that like to watch a movie in the rear, and a wife i need to offer comfortable rides and long trips!
X5 for many reasons not a family car, especially the sport version.

In Greece, and sometimes in south Albania where I have to pass by the roads are very very poor, lots of holes, sharp damaged asphalt interruptions etj, not only the car loses it's scope for me and my family but weels get damaged too. Just last weel my partner with an brand new S-Class came to Greece to replace his front-right continental tyre as he went over a sharp hole in south Albania, and what we saw, the alloy wheel was damaged 30% on the inside perimeter, and we had to order for him a new wheel, all together 509 euro + 370 Euro = around 900 euro! Just becouse the wheels were 19''!!! Was a shame to se my friend driving an S-class with the reserve wheel for a couple of days! It is sometimes a matter of regions. Perhaps, you might have better streets and highways where you live!
