hey guys I just came back from a test drive of an 07 ML350 and it road like a dream. The car was almost so different than my problematic 2001 ML320. After test driving the ml350 I went over to Acura and saw the 07 MDX (was just release yesterday), I wasnt able to test drive it since the salesman that i wanted wasnt there. But anyways I just wanted everyones feedback on how the reliability on the 07 ML350, since I wasnt as happy as I can be with my 2001, recent problems include a faulty fuel gauge lighting up, alarm is going off (tow sensor I think), and a couple more previous ones every year. How is the reliability of the new (2nd Gen?) ML ? I did the search and found some thread with tranny issues and some getting lucky on getting a perfect ML.

Now the reason I considered the 07 MDX is because it seems like I'm getting more for my money. I saw the sticker price on a fully loaded 07 mdx was at $48k while the wasnt fully loaded ML was also around that price range. I would want to stay with the M class, but it seems that im just paying for the name. Can someone shine as to what the better choice would be? I cant really decide, but with the pricing im leaning towards mdx.

P.S. Does the 2001 ML and 2007 ML have the same wheel bolt pattern and offset? I have 20 inch Giovannah's on my 2001 and would wanna use it on the 2007 ML350, if I do get it. Thanks all.

i can't comment on the ML350, but our good friends bought her new ML500 earlier this year and i think the transmission went out within the first two months. i've not driven it but i've sat inside as a passenger...it seems pretty nice, but i thought the ride was quite stiff vs. the prior generation MDX. obviously you'll be driving both, but in terms of reliability i think it'd be tough to beat the acura, imho.

Bought an 06 350 last dec. Have 12,000 miles and I love it. Have had a 99 and an 03. No comparison in handling or reliability. My 06 still has not been back to the dealer. It is not maxed out as an Acura would be but love the German feel. You will be glad you bought the 350.
