Help...rear-view mirror problem...

Hey guys, whenever I turn on the reading lights, located under the mirror, the mirror dims so dark, I can hardly see a thing! Is this normal or should I take it to the dealer. Thanks, Jason

the reason it does this is because of the light sensor. There are 2 sensors in the mirror. One behind the mirror facing the windsheld. This measures the outside light level. THe small round sensor on the mirror glass itself detects the headlights in the rear. Wheneveer the outside light is dim (measured by the sensor facing the windsheild) and whenever a light is shown on the sensor on the glass itself, the mirror dims. When you turn on your reading lamps, it probably simulates a headlamp in the rear.

I don't know....The mirror only dims when the right (pass.) light is turned on and not the left one....
