ML 320CDI delivered

My 320 was delivered last week after 15 months on order. It is everything I expected. Have obeyed the break-in instructions and only exceeded the 2/3 redline twice for a short period. Result were terrific!!
The milage on the highway stayed at 27mpg until I got off the interstate.
If most people could ride in the car, the demand for diesels would grow rapidly. The torque makes for a great drive.
Two questions for the group:
Is it possible to reduce the volume on the navigation system instructions?
When you pick an alternate route to that requested, can something be done to keep the lady from trying to get you to u-turn?
The first 700 miles are great. Going on a 2500 mile trip this week and will report on the result

Nav volume can be set:

NAV->settings->Nav Volume

Not sure about u-turn question, I don't think so.

Nav Volume

To adjust the NAV volume, just turn the Volume control up or down when she is speaking... ( It has to be the dial on the center consol)

in NAV MODE.....hit RPT.. TURN up or down....

RPT ... then "MUTE" turns her off...

RPT turn her back on

Cannot do anything about the "U TURN" other than change the destination...

Results of 2400 mile trip to Fla.

Just got back from a 2500 mile trip. What a great highway cruiser!!
Did one leg of 1115 miles, averaged 77mph and got 23mpg. 80 mph at 2400 rpm feels like it is under geared. Could probably go to 3.23 gears and get better mileage. Never shifts down from 7th gear in cruise, even on the hills in Tenn. interstate 24. The engine just seems to have a unlimited amount of torque. Can't tell its an oil burner at highway speeds other than not having to stop for fuel. 500+ miles per tank with safty.
Have learned all the controls and really enjoying the drive.
Got the bluetooth receiver for my phone and it is worth the $350. Great sound and good integration with my Motorola V551.

That is a little disappointing.

Mileage on 320CDI

The 23 was putting the hammer down. Cruise set at 80 and short bursts to 90. When I go 65-70 the mileage pops up to 26-27. Very hard to keep the car at that speed, though, it is one good high speed runner.
