Possibly a new ML-350 in my future...is this a good deal?

Well, I wasn't looking to getting a new ML-350 but my dealer called with a "deal of a lifetime" so I may be replacing my Lexus GX-470 with one very soon. I haven't shopped around for an ML so I was hoping you guys could give me some feedback on this short-term lease:

2007 ML-350 w/
- P2 package (Nav, Rearview Camera, Power seats, folding mirrors, etc)
- iPod integration kit
- Dual screen DVD entertainment package
- Heating package
-*** AMG Sport package
Also the only color he can get is the Pewter, how is this???

27 month lease, 12k miles a year
- no money down ($1,900 at signing first month, security, etc.) all taxes in monthly payment
- $652/month

Thanks for the feedback

-Al

Consumer report rates the ML350/500 very low in reliability (-150%). Japanese car is ranked very high. My ML350 has had problems. I may highly go back to Japanese car when my lease expires. You find a lot of probs on this board. Here's the latest:

Do whatever your heart tells you to do, but also consider the facts. Good luck.

For a 60k car I think $650.00 and almost no money down is a pretty good deal you should take it

I am somewhat concerned about the issues that exists. Although the Lexus has had no issues its also been a very boring and mundane ride. This ML-350 would be our utility car, used less than 10k miles a year....so...still thinking about it.

FYI, the folks who have had problems are few and far between. My 06 ML500 has been flawless. Its the 3rd ML I have owned and its by far the best and most trouble free to date. As for the lease, I never would lease with any money down as you are negating the main purpose of a lease, no cash up front. You can reduce the lease payments by putting down a refundable deposit that will be returned at lease end. Also as I have stated here many times, a lease in most cases does not make sense unless you have a legit business write off for the vehicle. Think you will love the vehicle and its not a boring vehicle.

that price seems a little too good ! If this is a friend of yours hooking you up, kudos! Are you sure the taxes are all included in the monthly payments?

Well I stopped by today and the ML-350 should be in by Wed for pickup. The deal does sound too good to be true but its not and all of the taxes are included in the monthly payments. It seems dealers get "special" pricing for personal use or family members, in this case the saleman didnt need a car so he offered me his! I previously purchase an SL55 from the same dealership so no one objected. The only limitation was that it had to be an ML350 (no 500 or AMG) and that I had to take delivery before year end, that's it. They are also allowing me to trade in my 05 Lexus at a good price.

I wanted black but after days of trying they could only find Pewter with the AMG Sports package (a requirement for me)...so Pewter it is.

I'll post pics when I get it this week.

It's a good deal, but don't let them feed you any BS like they are, "special" family deal, they are making money on every car that leaves their lot, no question about it.....

I'll be looking for same equipped ML or GL in a few months when our RX330 lease is up.... I would go with the ML550 right now if they were making them.....
