From the MBUSA website:

Off-road driving program One-button off-road driving program allows driver to simultaneously engage programming recalibrations of the traction system, antilock brakes, engine management, and automatic transmission; designed to enhance control in conditions typical of off-highway driving.
The image below is from the Owner's Manual.

What does all that mean? You'll have to try it to see.

There is no "Uphill Assist Button" on mine. I think you're looking at the OffRoad Button. RTM, page 268.

See also page 97 to see what it does to the ABS system, page 101 to see what it does to the ESP and page 102 to see what happens with the 4-ETS.

Aren't Owner's Manuals something!

There is no button for the uphill start assist--it's always on. The one opposite the DSR button is the Off Road Program button (picture of truck going uphil over a mound).

Oh snap, I read! lol. Uphill start assist is always on? Are you sure? Because I put what turned out to be the off road program button on, and then let go on the brake and it held it there for a couple sec. But w/o the off road prog engaged, it just rolls back. Maybe i I had pushed the brake pedal way down, I dont know. Aynway it's cool
