Talking Got my 2008 CDI!

First time poster, been lurking for a while. Last Friday we went and picked up our 08 CDI. We ordered it in May and it came in early. Capri Blue, nav, heated seats, and steering, MB tex (can't do leather and heated seats) Bi zenon lights, sunroof and Ipod integration, and probably more I can't remember. I have owner many Bimmers and this is my first MB, and so far we are tickled as can be. Have not used a tank of fuel yet so have no mileage to report. So much to learn as far as settings and stuff. So very quiet, I can't believe it is diesel! Anyway, will post from time to time to give updates as she gets broken in

Congrats on your new vehicle. Only new thing about 2007 & beyond CDI's is the oil they require. Read up and do your research. All info I have says Mobil 1 ESP Formula M 5W-40. This is because of the Diesel Particulate Filter on the exhaust. Seems the newer CDI's with the filter need a lower ash oil.

We have put about 2,500 miles on a 2007 we just picked up recently and our fuel average is 22.22 MPG. That is calculated by a spreadsheet recording gallons in and miles traveled. It isn't from the on board computer.

Good luck and keep us posted on how you like it.

Greetings and congrats on the new ride!

I am looking into an '08 ML320 CDI with Premium II, Leather and Keyless Start .... I was wondering if you would share what type of pricing you obtained from your dealer so I know what to expect if I decide to pull the trigger (e.g. did you pay MSRP, did the dealer offer a % off MSRP. did you have to haggle, etc.).

My local dealer is MB of Ft. Lauderdale BTW ....

Thanks

Steve

Actually dealer was very tuff on the MSRP, never came off it. We turned down the deal and I walked. Good timing is everything, it was the last day of the month, towards closing, they had several deals go south and when they asked me what would it take for me to make it happen and trade in my car (which was way to low for me to consider) I told them and they took it. Ended up at 3K more for my trade than thier original offer. Buying a car is not an investment, it is a losing proposition. My goal always is to lose as little as possible.

Want to bye ml55
AFAIK front heated seats goes standart on ml55, maybe not on cdi.
You dont know why configurator on mbusa counts many things two times?
First in Accessories, second in Packages.
For example
Options
iPod Integration Kit $375
Illuminated Door-sill $550
Chrome Handle Inserts $85
6-Disc CD Changer $450

Packages
P3: Premium III $8,500
323 Heating Package $810
922 Interior Appearance Package $510

Accessories
Chrome Door Handle Inserts $79
Style VI 20" AMG 5-Spoke Wheel $4,640
iPod Integration Kit with Cradle - M - Class $348
CD Changer $785
Illuminated Door Sills $430
Buying a car is not an investment, it is a losing proposition. My goal always is to lose as little as possible.
I agree

Congratulations! Was the 350 ever a consideration for you? Reason I ask is 'cause I'm looking to get an ML myself, but can't decide between the two. Gas/diesel prices don't matter too much where I am (heavily subsidzied, diesel being only a few cents cheaper), and the 320CDI costs only about US$600 less. Anyone else have or had the same conundrum?

ML 350 -06
Go with diesel, you will low the torque.
I have 350 because the 320CDI was not available at the time but I have driven turbo diesel cars over 10 years and love them.
But, if you like to rev the engine the diesel is not the best for you as when going past the best torque area it feels like the car is "not going anywhere" due to strong start.
But, if you tow anything, diesel is great having all the torque, you don't even notice the hills etc.
