New ML350, BMW salesman comment
Took Delivery of my 2008 ML350 last week, great car, How is the inner fenders of the rear wheels to keep clean? the rears seem to be made of a fabric material, and the front inner wheel fenders are a hard plastic material, Why the two different materials? I also recieved a funny comment from the salesman at my local BMW dealer, I went and compared the X5 to the ML, I purchased the ML. A few days ago the salesman called me and asked If I was ready to come in to pick out a X5? I told him I bought a ML, he asked what made me decide on the ML, my answer was I thought that the ML was a better value for the money, and I liked the looks of the car better, His answer was, " well I hope you enjoy your fancy Chrysler" I currently have a BMW Conv. which is comming up on the end of the lease,, I will be sure to shop at another dealer to replace the BMW.

That BMW salesman has a lot of class.
Too bad its all fifth class!!!! BMW can train their salesmen about their product. Unfortunately they can't train them not to be a JERK!
Don't worry you made a good decision with your ML350. Actually both vehicles are VERY nice.

That's not cool...
He probably would have gotten more of your respect and attention if he said, "that ML350 is a fine ride, but this is why I think the X3/5 is a comparable/better vehicle..."
I'm no salesman, but isn't that one of the cardinal rules of salesmanship? Negativity, rock throwing and disrespect (especially if you're not 100% sure of your potential client's background, like they've owned brand X for decades and they're looking at giving your brand a chance, and now you're basically calling them a career idiot?) is juvenile.
So there!
