08 ML350 Rear Entertainment System
Did anyone ordered their truck with the rear entertainment system? If so, is the radio receiver the only option to output sound? I get so much static from the preset radio channels and was wondering if an auxillary port can be used instead.
Thanks.
Thanks.

The factory fit RSE has DVD player under the back seat. It has 2 video inputs on the front (composite), and 2 on the back , 1 connects to TV tuner (S-VIdeo), the other you have to work out how to connect it (and was used on the earliest models). Earlier models may only have 3.
So, you have DVD + the inputs as posisble sources.
Sadly, I havent found a composite out from the DVD player to connect back to the TV tuner so I can watch the picture at the front !
But, you may be talking about the rear audio system, and that I know nothing about

yes, in fact if you have the OEM RSE then it should already be hooked up to the aux input. if you have an aftermarket system it is the same thing; they have an A/V output that can be hooked into the aux input. Often the installers get lazy and do not install this extra feature since the FM output is built in resulting in your exact situation.
