Opinions on Buying a Black ML

2008 R350 & 2008 C300
Always seems to me that the manufacturer always markets the car in its best color. I love black but all of the online marketing around the 350 is done in Silver. That's what led me to my decision. I am also coming off a Black LR3 which when clean is a beauty but tough to keep that way.

2006 ML500 (mine) and 2008 ML550 (hers)
Iridium Silver vs Obsidian Black
I have a 2006 ML500 and my wife drives a 2008 ML550 (yeah I know). They both look great, however now that winter is here, the silver hides the dirt far better, and even though they are both dirty, the silver masks it well. We originally were going to get another Iridium Silver ML...but settled on the Silver and Black pair. That being said...I like the look of the ML550 in Black over the Silver ML500, even with the extra maintenance. At the end of the day though...it's all personal preference.

2008 ML 320 cdi
My options were black and white, because I didn't want to pay the premium for the other colors! So far I'm happy with the black. I've had it through the automated carwash a few times now, and so far...no swirl marks. Yep, someday they'll come, and I'll just have to deal with it. MBs do look most impressive in black.

Very nice wheels. Where did you get them, are they 20's or 22's? They look great. I just got my ML350 a week ago, love it.
Black paint, yes it's harder to keep clean but there's nothing prettier when clean.
As far as scratches and swirls, try Maguiar's Scratch X, amazing stuff. Congrats on your new car.

I used to live in So Cal too... Hehe!!
The wheels are from Lorinser in 22".
Honestly , I have never regreted to buy a BLACK ML.
IMHO, no other colors look prettier than Black for a ML even it's hard to keep it clean.

I drove the ML yesterday for the first time since I got back from my trip and she needs a wash. So I found the perfect solution to my problem. My sister wants to drive my car around all the time. I told her yes as long as she takes it to the car wash when she does. She is so **** about cars I know she wont park it near other cars and I get the car washed for me.
