07 ml 320 cdi update
thanks to all for a great forum as i really enjoy reading from time to time. my 07 320 cdi is 1 year old with 15 k miles and has been perfect in every way. it is by far the best vehicle i have owned and have zero complaints. i have had it serviced per the manual and have done extra oil changes between dealer service myself ( i change @ 5000) i highly recommend the diesel if anyone is not sure as the power is great in the mountains, on the highway and around town. I just can't say enough good things. Thanks to all for a great place to talk about cars.

I agree...The engineers who designed the car should get big raises...As should the folks in Vance. I find myself just driving mine just to drive. Plus the MPG!!! BTW, does the oil changes pose any unusual level of difficulty?

ML diesel's a great little "secret" for sure!
Unfortunately, I'm probably not realizing the total benefit of the fuel economy because I love the way it accelerates and pulls!

Tomorrow's the Day
We will make the final deal on a 2008 ML320cdi tomorrow at about 9:30am. I looked for a good quality, high performance diesel powered suv type vehicle and settled on the ML320cdi. I did searches on Autotrader and Edmunds, and the prices and condition of vehicles offered there were not too far from the local dealer (some say stealer). I traded an 02 Jetta TDI which has been a great car and has performed very well for me. However, it is time to move on to more power, more room and a smoother ride.
I cannot believe how quiet this engine is and how it performs with one turbo. There are some other goodies as well , i.e. backup camera, sound system, navigation system and interior. Time will tell, but I am excited about the vehicle.

Ours hasn't been completely trouble free over the 18k miles we've had it, but it is still very reliable and my complaints are minor. I'm VERY glad we chose the CDI over the gasoline versions.
