anyone know how to turn DOWN the fan on the defroster
every damm time i turn on the defroster for the front windshield, the fan comes on like a category 4 hurricane... FULL BLAST!!!! i try to hit the fan control to reduce the force but to no avail.... is this just the way it is on the ML or is there a problem with the fan controller??? this is my wife's suv and she say's it's always behaved this way.... can be... sounds wrong (at least non of my cars every had full force defrosting without some kind of fan control)

Seems to be a default. Every MB I've had has been like this. Usually, once the job is done well enough, I'll use the manual adjustments to get a better airflow and temp.

Judging by the way my E350 fogs up it needs the full blast but I also find it frustrating. Especially if your heat is on a higher temp. Your eyeballs bake.
It seesm all German cars a re like this. My wife's X5 does it, my Audi A6 did it as well. American cars let you adjust the speed.

Defrost is meant to be used only for short periods of time, for example: windows are covered with ice or it's very humid in- or outside: you come in to your car with e.g. wet clothes or some snow in your shoes.
Hope this helps!
