I heard a comment today that in the near future there was going to be an ML400 diesel electric (hybrid?) model. Has anyone else heard about this?

Haven't heard about a diesel electric hybrid, but there is a gasoline electric hybrid being developed with BMW, GM, Chrysler and Mercedes. The first application of this engine will be in the 2010 BMW 7 series.

In the ML, the engine is to be called the "M272", and it makes 340 HP and 480 NM torque. Supposed to also give 30MPG.
