ML63 wheels/tires on regular ML
Anyone put the 20x10 AMG wheels w/ 295/40s on a regular ML? I only wonder if they stick out too far with out the 63's flares. I know this was asked in a previous thread but I did not see a response.

I'm curious about the opposite .. if I install the flares, and don't get the wider tires, will it look werid and the tires look "sunk" into the body?
There is another thread and SL%% posted a URL to a PDF file. If you look in that, they note that the 20" wheels require the flares I believe.

2007 ML350 w/ full AMG package
I have an ML350 with 20" AMG wheels and 295/40 tires. I do also have the full AMG bidy kit with flares. The wheels sit about a few mm's inside the flares, so I would imagine that without them they would stick out just a bit.
I did see another ML350 just like mine with the AMG flares, etc.. but with 18" wheels and they were totally sunk in – looked pretty ungainly.
I think if you do get the 20's you should also opt for the flares – plus they make the whole car look so much meaner!

meta,
was the ML u saw with flares on 18"s equipped with the standard bumpers of AMG bumpers?
im wondering if the flares can be installed on NON-AMG bumpers.
also, how are the flares fitted???? adhesive? clips? bolts/drilling?

The car also had the AMG bumpers and I don't think the flares work with the normal bumpers.

For your information:
The part number of the Fender Flares for the AMG bumpers is B6 603 6229.
I think there is another part number for the normal bumpers but I don't have it.
Best Regards.

AMG wheels
Much better deal to find some take-offs. Those who can afford the 63 often want to go the next step and further personalize it. I will post pics when I mount them.

Replica wheels
You pretty much get what you pay for. Personally, I don't like to use knock-off products on a vehicle of this quality. Doesn't make sense to buy a top quality truck and skimp on the parts, IMO. I'd rather wait and save up if I have to.

Pics of 20s vs. 19s
I put on the ML63 wheels today. First some data.
19x8.5 OEM wheel w/ 255/50 Pirelli I&S (~6k mi.) - 69.5 lb.
20x10 AMG wheel w/ 295/40 Continental CrossTerrains UHP (~4k mi.) - 74.1 lb.
Tires on AMG stick out about 35mm further than OEM. They are 10mm beyhond the top of the wheel arch in front, and flush with the top in the rear. As the wheel well wraps down front and rear it tapers in so they are out further.
The second photo is of the 19s, the rest are of the 20s. Photos of the AMGs are with Airmatic on Sport setting. I'm thinking I may want to add the flares.
