Trailer hitch recall?
Mine's in the shop right now. Beware, it might take a lot longer than the 2hrs they tell you in the letter. Because of scheduling with the body shop, mine is going to take 1.5 days
Anyone else experiencing a long time?

Taking mine in to MB Escondido
I take mine in to get the trailer hitch repaired tomorrow. Like someone said they are using their body shop for the welding work. I'm taking it in tomorrow at 7:00a. For all you Socal guys I'll let everyone know how long this dealer takes. They say 3 hours, but I am not waiting around to find out
.
.
Got mine done
Dropped it off at 7:00am at MB Escondido, CA. They said they would call when it was done. At 3:30pm still no call. I call them and its ready. Aside from them not calling me they were nice,. They washed and vacuumed the SUV. I imagine that if you drop the car off later in the day that this fix could require keeping the car overnight.
I'll take some AFTER pictures tonight and post. Unfortunately I did not take BEFORE pictures. If someone can do the BEFORE pictures it would be helpful to everyone else to insure that the proper fix is done and to satisfy our curiosity on just what was done.
I guess none of us trust the dealers!

First of all, it's a Mercedes requirement that this fix be performed by a certified welder.
Many dealers don't have one on their payroll and will send the vehicle out.
The welding is done to Mercedes specification and "specification" is something certified welders are quite familiar with.
Any "fear" about this is a product of ignorance.
