Rotex Gold Brake Pads
Even though there was still plenty of wear left at 37,500 miles, I changed the front pads on my ML320CDI last week to the Rotex Gold. I've had them on my G500 for over a year and have been very pleased with the brand. I just got back from a run to FL on business, so they now have about 1200 miles on them. I had cleaned and polished the wheels after the installation.
They are dead quiet - no squeals, and seem to have better braking than the originals. Most important there is no dust on the fronts, although the rears are already starting to get dirty; and the fronts with the original pads were always 3-4X more dirty than the rears. Now, I wish that Rotex would make the rears available.
If you're in the USA and you do decide to go with the Rotex Gold, let me point you to a good vendor, as there is one out there who is a major crook. Also, if you're going to do the job yourself, get a 9mm hex bit to remove the caliper bolts. That bit is just about impossible to find.
