ML350 2008 New Owner... Performance mods?

Hey guys, this is my wifes car a new 08 ML350 black on black. I drove it a couple times, and man this thing is a dog. Her old BMW 3.0 X5 was way faster it felt.

Is there anything people are doing to get these things moving? A chip? Intake? Something?

I mean the tranny to me feels way to soft, and the car will barely get out of its own way.

If anyone has the same feeling, or has tied something to assist, please let me know!

Thank you!

Paul

lol the x5 had what a little over 220hp and this has 270 a 7spd auto and its very light for a truck. low end torque sucks but its good at the upper range. mods will void your warrenty. its all good if you want to hand it over to brabus lorisner carlson etc for mods

Nope...

Wife did. She likes it so thats all that matters. Now, when I drive it I would like it to have more power.

Since it seems no one has modded one of these (shocked) then I guess I will have to be the first to try it.

I came from a 2005 X5 3.0. I never liked how heavy that truck was. I always complained that it felt like it had no power steering when parking it (I'm exagerating of course). Also, I always felt the engine was very noisy. And, ML3504me you'll know since you had one, those freaking doors weight a ton!!!

In contrast, my 2008 ML is A DREAM!!! It turns with two fingers, the engine is dead quiet, the doors are light and close with that thump only a Mercedes makes and every time I hit on the pedal, Dr. Phil (that's what I named him because he saved my relationship! LOL!) rewards me with plenty of power!

Goes to show that we all have different tastes and what might turn one guy on, might be a real turn off to the next one!

I test drove an ML350 that a friend just purchased. I didn't notice the loss of power over the 500 engine, but that was just some local around town driving.

I also noticed the light steering, which I felt was way too light it lost some of its feel.
