Skid Plates on an ML350 with Appearance Package
I have a 2008 ML350. I believe for model year 2008, the ML350 came with appearance package standard. I want to put skid plates on, but apparently, they do not fit ML's with the appearance package. I spoke to the dealer and they are telling me that I can't have skid plates (front or rear) installed without changing the bumper, perhaps to an ML550 bumper or a special one that allows the skid plates to fit. Does anyone know about this or perhaps have a work around on getting skid plates put on without having to change the bumper?

In Europe these things are called "optical underride protection."
"Optical" meaning they look like it.
These are cosmetic, that is, not really skid plates.

Good luck and enjoy.
