Those look like MY09 wheels, you will need the airbag too if your ML is not a '09 model.

um, look again. its the standard wheel from 2006-2008. companies like this make their own wood steering wheels from all leather ones.

stock one only came with wood on the top half, nothing on the bottom

I put these wheels on for a living on the assembly line at MBUSI, there are no controls for the radio and such on these wheel(by the way the pix look). The 09 model moved them to the air bag. May have to disassemble the wheel and take the controls out and transfer them onto the new wheel.

VelociRaptor, thanks for your insight. Very good to know. We have not yet sold any of the W164 wheels so we would not know for sure. The buttons might be swappable; thus making the wheel work for 06-09. Once again, thank you for your info.

lol, what kind of bs is that? you put these steering wheels on for a living? then by all means, you should either get some glasses, or get fired. what an idiot.

look closely at the wheel the in the first picture and take note of the spacing for the lower spokes on towards the bottom.

now go and compare that to a 09 which has it spaced out much more further apart. they are completely different.

also, you can't retrofit the steering control buttons from 06-08 to the 09. for one thing, they aren't even the same shape or size.

and to the original poster, you should know your own product and know what it will fit and not fit.

vinceching . Thanks for the heads up. Clearly, judging by the pictures the 09s are different. And you are correct, we should have known this information prior to listing, but we never had a chance to test them. The website will be revised with the new info. Once again, thank you very much vinceching

Didnt look that far, right off I didnt see the controls so I posted up. I dont put the air bag in so I dont really see the completed product very often. When I put the wheel on I look for scratches/stitching/discoloration of the leather or wood and alignment of the splines. Its been about 6 months since I put on a first gen 164 steering wheel so I ask for your forgiveness on the oversite(becasue you are right on the spacing). The splines and bolt that fasten the wheel on the steering column are the same but the wiring for the air bag is different from first gen to current airbag. You may possibly retrofit the MRM to the current model to use the '09 wheel and airbag but thats just a guess.
