2007 ML320 CDI
Washington snows

have a 2007 ML320 CDI (great car, P3 with all the bells). I live on the eastern steps of the Cascades, so our winter here is pretty mild with 6 inches of snow typically falling per storm then melting. However we have passes to cross, and the big passes last year got 180+ inches, so a drive from home to Seattle may start with dry roads, heavy thick icy snow over the pass and then heavy rain as one descends into the warm air of seattle.

I've found it hard to pick which snow tire I want.... Recommendations for dedicated winter tire?

ML320CDI
Dunlop Winter Sport M2 is the best you can use. You can also use Goodyear Ultragrip 7.
