USAToday Trashes ML320 Bluetec
7-sp is essentially incompatible with the V6 diesel.
Brake feel is a POS
Seats are bad.
He failed to equate the bad ride with runflats as he should have and runflats always deserve even more negative comments.
MBUSI (Alabama) needs to get its act together.
Let me state that I owned more than one MB, few other cars along the way. I just purchased a 2008 ML 320 CDI for my wife and I can say the ride in the SUV is comfortable; the drive ability of the unit is fine. The MPG is 20 MPG in town and 26 Highway. Yes some of the interfaces are not the most user friendly but then again I can work them without a lot fan fare.
If I desire an S-class ride than we take my S55 out if I want to be able to go through snow, mud and other nasty things we drive the SUV.
I do not fully understand way the reporter just slam the new ML but he was off base with is assessment of this SUV. As far as the Blue stuff goes when you get your oil change the dealer or whomever is supposed to check and refill the unit with the blue stuff.
Yes all cars have problems and that’s why there is a warranty with the unit. Even you spend $500,000 thousand on car it will break down or something will go wrong with it.
Let’s get in touch with reality here people this stuff is mechanical / electrical and it will break down it has since the first model t rolled of the line till now. Yes there are cars that worse than others and there one’s that are outstanding but all of them will have issues.
Ok enough of the soap box I like the ML and I think it’s up to each person to figure out if he/she needs a SUV and what type.
Sincerely,

- 10 BMWs (yes, ten)
- 4 MB's (C, E and 2xML)
- 2 Land ROvers
...and now another MB ML. And the reporter is way off base. Perhaps he just likes soft US cars. Or he has a gripe. Or he isn't a great driver. Not sure... but the new ML is really very good. Brakes and gearbox too, and engine especially (my foirst diesel and I love it).
